Clistom Tablets containing:
Clidinium Bromide + Chlordiazepoxide + Dicyclomine HCl
🔹 Mode of Action
- Clidinium Bromide – Anticholinergic agent; relaxes smooth muscles of the stomach and intestines, reduces gastric acid secretion, and relieves abdominal cramps.
- Chlordiazepoxide – Belongs to benzodiazepine class; acts on the central nervous system (CNS), reduces anxiety, and has mild muscle relaxant properties.
- Dicyclomine HCl – Antispasmodic; relieves muscle spasms in the gut and reduces pain and bloating.
👉 Together, they control IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), abdominal cramps, and anxiety-related digestive symptoms.

🔹 Side Effects
Common:
- Drowsiness, dizziness
- Dry mouth
- Constipation
- Blurred vision
- Tiredness
Less common but serious:
- Allergic reactions (rash, itching, swelling, difficulty breathing)
- Excessive sedation or confusion (especially in elderly)
- Difficulty urinating
- Fast heartbeat (tachycardia)
⚠️ Precautions:
- Avoid alcohol (increases drowsiness).
- Do not drive or operate machinery until you know how it affects you.
- Long-term use may cause dependence due to chlordiazepoxide.
- elderly, pregnant women, liver/kidney disease patients, or glaucoma patients.
